Hannah + Jeff | Spruce Mountain Ranch Wedding | Larkspur, CO

These two lovebirds had so much fun playing in the snow on their wedding day!  Wintry Colorado didn’t disappoint and this couple didn’t hesitate to take advantage.  Once guests were cozy indoors among the venue’s roaring fireplace, they enjoyed a delicious family-style meal and an ice luge!  Our favorite detail: the chocolate + peanut butter buckeye favors that guests took home — a nod to the couple’s Ohio roots!540_1 Continue reading

Brooke + Jim | Devil’s Thumb Ranch Wedding | Tabernash, CO

It was so fun to design this colorful winter wedding at Devil’s Thumb Ranch!  We kept the intimate ceremony in the Timber House more traditional with lush ivory blooms + trailing greens and then amped things up for the reception with deep maroons, bright pinks, and glam gold.  It was such a fun surprise for guests and really helped differentiate the celebration spaces.  We love looking through these photos and reliving this gorgeous day!

Denise + Marty | Devil’s Thumb Ranch Wedding | Tabernash, CO

We couldn’t be more thrilled that our 2019 season started off with the intimate winter wedding of this lovely couple!  There is nothing quite like celebrating your marriage on a magical, snowy day in the mountains, cozied up in front of a roaring fireplace and sipping hot cocoa.  With only 40 guests in attendance, it was important to make the Broad Axe Barn at Devil’s Thumb Ranch feel full despite the small guest count, and one long community table did the trick!  Modern + classic details rounded out the design, including a neutral color palette, wintry furs, rustic wood accents to complement the mountain lodge setting, and chic acrylic drink stirrers that doubled as escort cards!  DeniseandMarty-30 Continue reading

Mariana + Tom | Devil’s Thumb Ranch Wedding | Tabernash, CO

Mariana + Tom traveled to Colorado from Australia for their picturesque winter wedding in the mountains.  That definitely sets a record for us in terms of destination weddings!  Nevertheless, this couple is proof that planning from afar can be a breeze.  We worked together to create a wedding design that was cozy + romantic and brought “the outdoors in,” accented by tons of candlelight, floor to ceiling floral installations, and mismatched place settings.   We paid tribute to the groom’s Kiwi roots in several ways, including the incorporation of fern + korus to the floral design and mini meat pies to the menu.

Mariana + Tom, we wished you lived closer!  We were hooked on you as soon as you told us that Hamilton’s “Helpless” would be your recessional song and if we’re being totally honest, you still have a hold us.  Thanks for making 2018 walk in and our hearts go “Boom!”MarianaandTom118 Continue reading

Amanda + John | Chief Hosa Lodge Wedding | Golden, CO

We are so excited to be sharing this winter wedding on the blog today!  This was one of the sweetest, most intimate celebrations.  A modern geometric theme wove its way through the wedding design, all the way from the hexagon backdrop that the groom crafted himself to the cake decorations.  We have so many favorite memories from this day: watching the guests take a shot together to toast the couple for the first time at the end of the ceremony, seeing the bride and groom’s joyous faces as they scurried away together for some post-ceremony alone time, and being dragged to the dance floor by the bridal party to dance the evening’s last song — Shout!  Yes, we danced.  No, it wasn’t pretty.  But, it’s a moment we’ll never forget!  Congrats Amanda + John on a fantastic celebration and best wishes for the adventures ahead!

Mary + AJ | Space Gallery Wedding | Denver, CO

Mary + AJ love wine.  Like, L.O.V.E. it.  So, we incorporated it into their wedding design + menu!  Their elegant plated meal was Tuscan-inspired, complete with assorted bread, olive oil, and balsamic for dipping.  For dessert, guests enjoyed mini cupcakes with Italian-inspired flavors: cannoli, tiramisu, and almond.  We loved the wine bottles that were turned into floating candle holders, the family-made wine box, which was used during their ceremony to seal their love notes to each other, and all their day-of paper goods, which were stained with red wine rims.  We adore this couple so much and we’re so sad that their wedding is over!Hendricks_035 Continue reading

Bailey + Mark | University Club Wedding | Denver, CO

We ended our 2016 season with Bailey + Mark’s winter wedding.  The high temperature for the day was one degree.  That’s right, one.  But, that didn’t stop these two from getting some killer outdoor photos + celebrating to the max!  Santa even made an appearance at their reception.  At the end of the night, as our team + the catering staff hustled to complete the day’s cleanup tasks, Bailey and Mark sat alone at one of the remaining reception tables.  They ate a cupcake together and chatted quietly about the day’s happenings, their favorite parts they hadn’t yet had the chance to discuss, and they watched as the space transformed from their wedding – full of beautiful wintry decor and people they love – to an empty room.  It’s one of the most endearing things we’ve ever seen a couple do.  We tried to shoo them off to an after party or the warmth of their home, but they wanted to stay and watch…for closure, they said.  And yet, it’s just the beginning.  Congrats, you two!  Thanks for ending our our season with such beauty!moriartybrideandgroom-94 Continue reading
