We couldn’t be more thrilled that our 2019 season started off with the intimate winter wedding of this lovely couple! There is nothing quite like celebrating your marriage on a magical, snowy day in the mountains, cozied up in front of a roaring fireplace and sipping hot cocoa. With only 40 guests in attendance, it was important to make the Broad Axe Barn at Devil’s Thumb Ranch feel full despite the small guest count, and one long community table did the trick! Modern + classic details rounded out the design, including a neutral color palette, wintry furs, rustic wood accents to complement the mountain lodge setting, and chic acrylic drink stirrers that doubled as escort cards! Mountain wedding
Andrea + Mikey | Flying Diamond Ranch Wedding | Steamboat, CO
We couldn’t be happier that Andrea + Mikey chose us to help them bring their romantic, mountain wedding to life! We designed the reception tent to mimic the atmosphere of the cozy, intimate ceremony that took place in a nearby aspen grove. These bouncy, lush florals and soft, airy paper goods truly took our breath away! Our favorite details included a show-stopping, 5-tier, ruffly cake and a signature drink named after the couple’s sweet pup, Calvin. Congratulations you two! We wish we could relive this beautiful day again and again!
Brooke + Bryan | Devil’s Thumb Ranch Wedding | Tabernash, CO
Brooke + Bryan’s wedding celebration was the perfect combination of elegant + funky. The ceremony + reception spaces were designed to feel classy and timeless and guests enjoyed a high end meal from the chefs at the resort. But when the lights went down, guests were treated to an epic dance party complete with go-go dancers and lava lamps! This wedding was so much fun, with surprises around every turn, and we were so thrilled to be a part of it! Congrats again, Brooke + Bryan! Continue reading
Maggie + Austin | Devil’s Thumb Ranch Wedding | Tabernash, CO
Maggie + Austin have been dear friends of ours for years, so it’s pretty difficult to think about their wedding day without tears, even months later. Plus, this day marked our 100th wedding (!!!) with PSE, so it packs an emotional punch. These two truly focused on the details — personalized snippets that made their celebration feel like “them.” Family heirlooms were highlighted, their dog and cat made appearances, they crafted their own signage and paper goods, and each guest went home with an aspen bark vase, designed by the mother of the bride. We always tell our brides and grooms to “embrace the chaos” on their wedding days and this one proved the point. Unplanned, imperfect things happen; a wedding is a living, breathing entity. Maggie + Austin’s dog stopped midway down the aisle to pee, and instead of cringing, we laughed. It was a moment we will never forget. Continue reading
Bea + Kelly | Piney River Ranch Wedding | Vail, CO
Look at this photo. LOOK AT IT! This is what celebration and joy looks like! Bea + Kelly tied the knot at one of our favorite mountain settings on a glorious fall day. Their friends and family were some of the sweetest and most enthusiastic wedding guests we’ve ever encountered and their day was filled with joyous singing, infinite kisses, and a visit from a local moose! We loved bringing their boho, cacti-inspired design vision to life with epic fall floral from Emma Lea Floral and sweet menu bundles complete with adornments of dainty aspen leaves. The wedding day ended with quiet chats around a bonfire, late-night sliders, and the brides dancing off into the moonlight in matching denim jackets. It was perfect. Continue reading
Katie + Ben | Devil’s Thumb Ranch Wedding | Tabernash, CO
Katie + Ben’s wedding was one of our very favorites to design! We tell their story to almost all our new clients: After getting to know them a bit, we learned that Ben was a huge lego buff, so we came up with a sophisticated way to incorporate legos into their wedding design. Scroll down to see the finished product from Whimsy Design Studio! We turned white legos into thumb tacks and used them to display all of the escort cards. We absolutely LOVE how it came together! As always, thanks to the rest of this vendor team for being rockstars! Full list is below. Continue reading
Kara + Brendan | Devil’s Thumb Wedding | Tabernash, CO
Here’s another favorite wedding from Devil’s Thumb Ranch! You’re not going to want to miss the amazing floral element that Emma Lea Floral created for this ceremony. It increased our love for pampas grass, if that’s even possible. Elegant + modern details rounded out the rest of the design. We especially loved the place card agates and signage from Whimsy Design Studio! As always, thanks to Laura Murray Photography for being flawless and capturing this day so wonderfully. Emily + Patrick | Vail Golf Club Wedding | Vail, CO
We loved this fall mountain wedding at the new Vail Golf Club! This day included so many of our favorite things: fur stoles, mountain views, lush greenery bouquets, and an incredibly happy bride + groom. Look at those smiles! Not to mention the classiest bridal party in a beautiful color palette of navy + grey. Rustic DIY details completed the wedding design with wooden altar stands, a stunning escort card display, and a welcome sign crafted from skis! We love when our couples get to show off Colorado to their guests — the mountains celebrated this marriage by covering the ground with golden aspen leaves like confetti! Continue reading
Lauren + Clem | Devil’s Thumb Ranch Wedding | Tabernash, CO
If Lauren + Clem’s wedding day is any indication of how their years together will be spent, they’ll be full of adventure. When the groom wants to do a little fishing during his first look, you know he’s never going to bore you. Seriously…scroll down to see him grabbing a trout with his bare hands in his wedding suit! Bold + playful details rounded out this wedding design with a vibrant floral palette, clever trout cookies, and brightly colored place card agates. Favorite memories from this wedding include Lenny, the sweetest labrador ring bearer of all time, and the amazing second line parade with a jazz band to pay tribute to the bride’s southern roots! Wishing these two lovebirds much happiness on their life of adventure ahead! Continue reading
