We couldn’t be more thrilled that our 2019 season started off with the intimate winter wedding of this lovely couple! There is nothing quite like celebrating your marriage on a magical, snowy day in the mountains, cozied up in front of a roaring fireplace and sipping hot cocoa. With only 40 guests in attendance, it was important to make the Broad Axe Barn at Devil’s Thumb Ranch feel full despite the small guest count, and one long community table did the trick! Modern + classic details rounded out the design, including a neutral color palette, wintry furs, rustic wood accents to complement the mountain lodge setting, and chic acrylic drink stirrers that doubled as escort cards! Maggie + Austin have been dear friends of ours for years, so it’s pretty difficult to think about their wedding day without tears, even months later. Plus, this day marked our 100th wedding (!!!) with PSE, so it packs an emotional punch. These two truly focused on the details — personalized snippets that made their celebration feel like “them.” Family heirlooms were highlighted, their dog and cat made appearances, they crafted their own signage and paper goods, and each guest went home with an aspen bark vase, designed by the mother of the bride. We always tell our brides and grooms to “embrace the chaos” on their wedding days and this one proved the point. Unplanned, imperfect things happen; a wedding is a living, breathing entity. Maggie + Austin’s dog stopped midway down the aisle to pee, and instead of cringing, we laughed. It was a moment we will never forget. Continue reading
What a fun day we had celebrating Lauren + Jason! This couple was so full of joy…and dance moves! We loved how they kept things simple with an elegant ivory palette, non-fussy cookies + ice cream for dessert, and a sweet DIY polaroid guest book station. Plus, we got to hang out with Henley, the ring bearer pup, so we’d call that a win. Congrats to this amazing bride + groom! We are so happy for you! Continue reading
We were so excited when Laura + Nick came to us with their ideas for a classic, urban wedding! Coohills Restaurant + the neighboring 14th Street bridge were the perfect locations for them to bring their vision to life and dance the night away al fresco under bistro lights. We kept the design simple but impactful with delicate greenery, acrylic details, and blue napkins + glassware for a pop of color. We absolutely fell in love with this couple and we were so happy to be involved with their planning! Continue reading
We love how Erin + Jonathan chose to incorporate so many personal details into their design: peaches as place cards as a tribute to a grandmother whose nickname was “Georgia Peach,” ginger jar centerpieces from the bride’s very own collection, a spread of desserts comprised of family recipes, and a signature cocktail to honor a family member who could not attend. Plus, with Betty the Beverage Burro passing out goodies, it was bound to be a good day. Congratulations on a beautiful celebration!
We were so happy that Alima + David chose to hold their ceremony on the intimate riverside patio at the Lyons Farmette! It was the perfect space for them to say their vows. They celebrated after ceremony with a casual meal of pizza + ice cream and sent guests home with custom illustrated coasters and mini alpaca figurines!
There was so much to love from Caitlin + Jake’s wedding, but we were most excited about their vision to incorporate color into their design! From the moment they fell in love with the printed floral napkins they chose, we knew where the rest of their design was headed. We completed the look with a ceremony installation with bright floral climbing up the trees, two-piece bridesmaid dresses, bright coral peonies, and whimsical signage. Our favorite (and tiniest) detail: the sketched potato icon that designated the vegetarian meals on the escort cards! The cutest! Continue reading
Spring weddings at the Lyons Farmette are among our very favorites. Whenever a baby alpaca can be a guest and your wedding, we’d say that’s a win! Jennifer + Bret’s celebration was as sweet as they are, complete with fuzzy alpaca figurines, lush greenery garlands on the dinner tables, and Voodoo Doughnuts! Continue reading
Katie + Ben’s wedding was one of our very favorites to design! We tell their story to almost all our new clients: After getting to know them a bit, we learned that Ben was a huge lego buff, so we came up with a sophisticated way to incorporate legos into their wedding design. Scroll down to see the finished product from Whimsy Design Studio! We turned white legos into thumb tacks and used them to display all of the escort cards. We absolutely LOVE how it came together! As always, thanks to the rest of this vendor team for being rockstars! Full list is below. Continue reading
